Do you suffer with Headaches?

If you suffer with headaches, you will know how debilitating it is to have one.

It feels stressful, painful and you find it hard to concentrate or get much done when you have one!

First and foremost, we would always suggest following the NHS advice on managing and educating yourself on the various types of headache, and when you should consult your GP. You can find information here:

Relieving and preventing headaches naturally

Hydration - Drinking water/squash/tea throughout the day can prevent the bodies tissues from shrinking (through dehydration) and causing nerve pain and headache. The NHS recommends that most people should aim to drink 6 to 8 cups or glasses of fluid a day to stay properly hydrated, possibly increasing the amount on hot days, when exercising or when ill.

Sleep - Getting a good nights sleep or having a nap if needed can help prevent headaches. Research suggests that not getting enough REM (rapid eye movement) sleep can trigger painful headaches/migraines. Good sleep hygiene habits, like going to bed at the same time every night and creating a routine so your body knows its time for sleep can help with this. Make sure your pillow is comfortable and supportive, this will help minimise chances of creating muscle tension in your neck.

Exercise - Exercising releases endorphins (natural pain controlling chemicals), so 20 minutes of a mild aerobic exercise like walking, dancing or swimming can help with headaches. Always ensure you have hydrated and eaten properly before exercise and listen to your body.

Massage - Now, this is where Massage Pain Away can help you!

Massage works by loosening the tight and tense muscles (which can be the cause of headache) of your face, head, neck and shoulders.

Therapeutic Massage can help to prevent headaches and lessen the frequency of Migraines by loosening the muscles, encouraging the flow of blood, oxygen and nutrients to the areas being massaged. This helps provide relief from pain and overall tension, treating the cause rather than the symptoms. Massage Pain Away has helped many people over the years, easing and eradicating pain caused by headaches.
